Purpose:

  • To provide an opportunity to deeply analyze a selected part of the assigned text.
  • To provide an opportunity to learn from one another.

 

Procedure (Step One)

  • Click here to access your group's wiki page.
  • Read your group's section of the text.
  • Discuss and assign the required tasks - you will need one person to add each of the following elements
  1. Images that relate to important material in the text. (click here for more guidance)
  2. Definitions of key vocabulary words.  (click here for more guidance)
  3. Links to glossary pages that expands on key concepts, personalities, and events. (click here for more guidance)
  4. From 2-3 good questions that require students to know the most important information. (click here for more guidance)

 

Bonus Points!

  • Your group can earn bonus points for additional resources such as videos, speeches, primary source documents, music, audio, interactive games, great websites, book or film recommendations, etc. (click here for more guidance)

Procedure (Step Two):

  • Give feedback on another groups wiki page using the wiki page enhancement rubric (how to do this).
  • Create 4 good quiz questions and submit them using edu20.org.  (how to do this)
  • If you have extra time, please spend some time finding additional enhancements for group bonus points.

 

Procedure (Step Three):

  • Read all of the sections and use student contributions to help you better understand the reading.
  • Take the online quiz which will include many of the groups' questions.

 

Grading:

Your grade will be an average of your personal grade and the overall group's grade.

Criteria used to assess your contributions include the following:

  • Relevance - Do your contributions relate, in a direct way, to the most important material in the text?
  • Effectiveness - Do your contributions effectively enhance the text and help the reader come to a deeper understanding?  Are contributions clear, engaging, and easy to access?
  • Choice - Were your contributions chosen wisely?  Were your contributions chosen to help enhance the most important information in the text? 
  • Thoroughness - Were your contributions thorough enough, without adding too much?
